Three technicians win 1st Annual Missouri State Diagnostic Championship
On Saturday, November 3, 2001 three St. Louis area auto mechanics from three different repair shops teamed up to win the First Annual Missouri Diagnostic Challenge, a statewide diagnostic competition. In order to reach the finals, the contestants scored the highest on a 100-question written test. The top nine scorers were put on 3-man teams for the hands-on diagnostic testing.

Mike Hecht, the technical trainer for AAA of Missouri, "bugged" three cars with identical problems. Each team was given a repair order listing the customer concerns, and a 1.5-hour time limit to complete the diagnosis and the repair. Our very own Scott Ramsey was on the three-member winning team.

All three members of the winning team have extensive experience and education, are ASE certified technicians, and 1 certified for Advanced Engine Performance. In addition, they are all State of Missouri Recognized Repair Technicians for the new emissions testing program.
