In 1992, Mike and Leslie purchased the Amoco service station at the corner of Union Road and Reavis Barracks. In 1993, they bought the Amoco service station and car wash at Gravois and Germania. In 2000, Clemons Auto Care at 8212 Watson became the third Najjar Car Care location. This was also when Najjar Car Care was born. Today, all three locations are called Najjar Car Care. In February of 2004, Najjar Car Care opened a new eight-bay shop at 7027 Hampton Avenue under the supervision of Shawn Mead. The forty-year-old Amoco on Gravois closed a month later. The Hampton location is newer, larger, and has more modern equipment than the service station. Plus, as Johnny Londoff used to say: "We own our building and lot." You can be assured we'll be around for a long, long time. On June 17, 2005, Najjar Car Care took over the Wells-Harrison Tire store in Collinsville, Illinois. Wells-Harrison had been family owned for 44 years, and Mike and Leslie are proud to continue the family-owned tradition begun by the Harrisons in 1961. Ed Starns is the general manager of the Collinsville store. "Owning a business is a great career for me. It's challenging; there's always something new happening. Being in a service business gives me the opportunity to help people by solving their car problems," Mike says. "There's no doubt in my mind that I have the best managers and technicians in the St. Louis area, and possibly anywhere. These guys do such a great job, it makes my job much easier. They're fun to work with, they take care of our customers very well."
Scott Ramsey (South County) and his two fellow team members won the 2001 Missouri Diagnostic Challenge on November 3, 2001. They competed against other top technicians from Missouri and southern Illinois. His team earned the best score overall by properly repairing a vehicle which had been "bugged" by experts from AAA. We can proudly claim that one of the three best technicians in Missouri work at Najjar Car Care! Najjar Car Care has also earned the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence. This award has been earned by only 15% of the shops in the entire country. We have been designated by the Automotive Service Leaders as a "Top Shop". Below is a list of all our affiliations:
